Good things come to those who wait, The Power of Positive Thinking, The Law of Attraction. All of these are probably very familiar terms to most people. They all represent in one form or another, the power that positive thought and positive affirmation have on the psyche and the minds ability to generate positive results based on those thoughts. The concept is very sound and has proven itself to be a viable method of assistance for untold numbers of people.

If the concept is so sound though, why does it not work for everybody who tries it? Unfortunately, statistics will bear out the fact that not everybody who bought into one of these programs actually tried it out. To make an effort or an attempt at something, no matter how passive it may be, still requires the individual to take decisive action in order to attain real and positive outcomes.

You can sit in your home all day long, staring relentlessly at photographs that embody all of your dreams, ambitions and desires. You can eat, sleep stare and even base your existence around them and still you will be lacking actual results. Unless you take some type of definitive action, none of the positive thinking in the world will do you any good at all.

Perhaps your goals seem overly optimistic or dreamy to ever stand any chance of ever becoming a reality. That is not and should never be the case and that method of thinking will only hurt you in the end. You should always keep your mind on the big picture and think about the results. However, make a plan of action to go along with it. Do not set your ultimate goal as the only thing to accomplish on your list. Think about what it will take and list each one of the smaller goals in succession on your list of things to accomplish.

The smaller goals often seem much more attainable, and thus, ultimately more realistic to most people. Suddenly the whole idea of the ultimate goal will not seem so impossible to accomplish. Further reinforcing your positive thoughts will be a continuing string of success and advancements towards the end that you foresee.

Now, rather than facing an impossible task that you can only dream about, you can track and record all of your successes as well. Each one of those is a constant reminder that you are working to make things happen for you. Each one serves to reinforce the idea that you really can accomplish whatever you set your mind to.

Rather than waking up to face a day filled with an impossible challenge, you will see small, very realistic goals, each one leading to something bigger and better. Rather than dwelling on what you think may be impossible to accomplish, you can concentrate on the joy and the resulting positive mental reinforcement that comes along with each one of your victories.

The powers of the mind are great and vast beyond any true comprehension. Still, having reached numerous small goals will bring you closer to your ultimate goal. Satisfaction taking the place of anxiety and frustration will just add that much more positive reinforcement to your overall plan. A little bit of positive action can create much more than positive thinking; it can create real and continual results.
